Round scoring, the last-trick bonus, and contract failure

Learn how card points, declarations, and the final-trick bonus combine, then what happens when the contract is missed.

When the last card is played, Hoşkin does not merely count tricks. Valid declarations, the point values inside won tricks, and the final-trick bonus contribute to the round. The contract team's promise is then checked separately.

Count won cards

Each ace won is 11, ten 10, king 4, queen 3, and jack 2. Trick count alone is not enough: fewer tricks containing high-value cards can yield more card points.

Add declarations

Validated marriages, runs, rank sets, team sets, and Pinik points enter the relevant team's result. A client animation cannot create points; online, the authoritative server determines combinations and scoring.

The last-trick bonus

The team winning the twentieth and final trick receives 20 extra points. This bonus is separate from the ranks of the final four cards, so the last trick can carry both its card values and the fixed bonus.

When the contract succeeds

If the contract team's rule-calculated result reaches its commitment, the round gains are recorded normally. For a 600 contract, 350 declaration points + 250 card points + the 20-point last-trick bonus = 620, so the contract succeeds. This is the partners' combined result, not only the bidder's tricks.

When the contract fails

If the team falls short, canonical scoring applies the contract amount as a negative. A failed 600 contract therefore applies -600 to the contract team. This is why visible declaration value and uncertain trick value should be considered separately.

Read the result in three parts: declarations, cards plus last trick, and contract check. That breakdown makes the total and the reason for success or failure transparent.
